About the course

The fact that this is a 9 hole course does not deter anyone who has played it. Golfers can play the course their way, choosing between a round of 9 or 18 holes. Our booking system allows for a smooth continuation as you start your ‘second’ lap.

Spring 2006 saw the opening of our new set of tees for the back nine holes. The course has a par of 69 when playing 18 holes. The addition of these new tees has proved a great success bringing a new dimension to the second nine and bringing the seven water features and the river more into play.

Open daily from 7am until dusk, the course is accessible and flexible for golfers of all levels to enjoy a round at a time that suits them.

Your guide to the course

Our 9 hole golf course has two par 5s, three par 3s and four par 4s. When playing 18 holes, there are three par 5s, nine par 4s and six par 3s. The course is meticulously cared for and our records show that even during Britain’s traditional inclement winters, the greens stand up well. Constructed to United States Golf Association specification, the greens are sand based, so you can rely on them throughout the year. While the course offers enough challenge to keep experienced golfers on their toes - you may find yourself reaching for every club in your bag - its gentle, undulating layout also makes it ideal for less-able golfers. It’s a great way to stay active and enjoy the game without undue strain. With seven water features throughout, the course is as scenic as it is engaging, providing a memorable experience for all players.

Course History

Although Horne Park Golf only opened in 1995, making it relatively new in comparison to some of the UK’s most notable courses, we do boast a special history as an RAF airfield during World War II. In 1944, as the war was nearing its end, a few acres of farm land surrounding Bones Lane, the narrow road that runs alongside the course, was used as a temporary airfield for the RAF, as they were anxious to acquire additional airfields in the southeast of England. Known as ALGs (Advanced Landing Grounds), RAF Horne was the only airfield in Surrey.
