Horne Park Juniors Win The Fairways Trophy!

FAIRWAYS TROPHY FINAL: HORNE PARK  5  –  1  ADDINGTON PALACE

Horne Park juniors retained the Fairways Trophy in a terrific final at Cuddington GC on Sunday.

Having knocked out Cuddington and Kingswood in the previous two rounds, the final was always going to be tough against a strong and experienced Addington Palace team.

With the first point won early by Horne Park captain Mackenzie Thorpe, the other five games were all very close with just the one hole up / down during the back nine. However, it was the Horne Park team who managed to clinch three games on the 17th hole to secure a 5 – 1 win.

Great to see so many parents supporting the matches which were all played in a terrific friendly/competitive spirit.

Congratulations to our team – Mackenzie Thorpe (Captain), Harry Crow, Mollie Wheeler, Benjamin Benetar, Ben Kinsey and Harrison Brindley.

The ‘Fairways Trophy’ is a Surrey interclub Junior knockout team event that has been running for over 40 years, before Horne Park even existed, and has been won over years by many of the great golf clubs in Surrey.
