Horne Park was privileged to host our first Special Olympics Great Britain (https://www.specialolympics.org/) golf event on Saturday 24th August 2024. Special Olympics athletes travelled from across the country to compete in the event at Horne Park, hosted by Dawn and Warren from the ‘Warren Clark Golfing Dreams’ charity.  We were unfortunate with the weather, but all of the athletes completed their nine holes in an extraordinary display of commitment and passion for the game of Golf. All athletes received a medal for their efforts.

Despite awful weather, Horne Park and WCGD would like to give a special thanks to club members; John Duffy, Colin Cornhill, Liam Bashford & Tom Harris, who volunteered to accompany the athletes on the course. Home Park are proud to be sharing the game of golf with such amazing people and we look forward to hosting an event with Special Olympics Great Britain next year.
